It is not necessary to take the public transport to visit the most important places, like the Plaza Mayor, the Palacio Real, museums, cinemas, theatres, restaurants. In addition, next to the hotel you can take the touristic bus that will take you to the most important monuments of Madrid and will explain some history to you (independent payment). Nearer metro stop: Gran Vía-Callao. Nearer train station to the hotel: Atocha. Next to the hotel you will find a public parking: "Plaza del Carmen", but if you arrive by car you can park it opposite the hotel to unload your luggage and check your booking.
